Band Names: Love and Rockets
The band Love and Rockets was formed in 1985 by 3 members of Bauhaus, a couple years following the split. When Peter Murphy refused to reform the band, the remaining trio formed a new group. They took their name from the comic book series "Love and Rockets" by the Hernandez brothers, which is one of the first comic books in the "alternative comics" movement of the 1980s. The comic had a punk band with the name Love and Rockets, and in 1993, during issues 31 thru 39, the punk band complained about the English rock band that stole their name from them.
